Church History

Hope Church was founded in 1931 as Clayton Pentecostal Holiness Church. The church has had almost forty different pastors in its history. As a result of the quick turn-over of pastors, the church remained rather small. Pastor Luke and Heather Long came to the church in February of 1998. At that point, the church had an average attendance of less than 20 people.

Since 1998, the church sold its building on Whittaker Street, in Clayton, North Carolina and moved into it's current location, a store-front building on Highway 70. The name of the church was changed to Hope Church around that time.

Hope Church has purchased five acres of land on Guy Road directly across from Clayton Middle School, Clayton. A new building will be constructed on that site in the near future.

Hope Church desires to serve God by bringing many people into God's Kingdom.
